Geology / History

Cavansite’s name is derived from its chemical composition, calcium vanadium phyllosilicate mineral. The colour of Cavansite is distinctive, almost always a rich bright blue. The colour is the same as its dimorph Pentagonite.
Cavansite occurs as a secondary mineral in basaltic & andesitic rocks along with a variety of zeolite minerals. Discovered in 1967 in Malheur County, Oregon, Cavansite is a relatively rare mineral. It is polymorphic with the even rarer mineral Pentagonite. It is most frequently found in the igneous rock province of Poona, India & in the Deccan Traps.
Cavansite is a distinctive mineral. It tends to form crystal aggregates, generally in the form of balls up to a couple centimetres in size. Sometimes the balls are coarse enough to allow the individual crystals to be seen. On rare occasions Cavansite forms bowtie shaped aggregates. Cavansite is frequently found sitting atop a matrix of zeolites or Apophyllites.

Metaphysical Properties
The purest Blue Ray vibration. A very strong healing & manifestation tool. Purifies, regenerates & aids with major life changes. A stone of inner truth, great strength & clear insight. Soothes the emotions & calms frayed nerves.
Cavansite usually grows with Pentagonite, this combination provides a calming influence & inner peace. Helps to overcome confusion & lack of direction. Enhances both intuition & logical thought processes.

Crystal Healing
Stimulates the endocrine system, especially the pituitary and pineal glands. Good for migraine or headache triggered by stress. Excellent for restful sleep.
